DINNER IN THE DESERT | Dinner & Traditional Show in the Desert: 6-Hour Tour

This tour was a mixed bag. Once we got to the final camp it was enjoyable, there was an entertaining show (fire show, traditional dancer, and belly dancer), the camel ride was fun (if a little short) and the food was good (large buffet spread, all very tasty). However! The timings of the day was a really problem. This particular tour does not include the 'dune bashing' which is typical of most desert tour packages. We avoided this activity specifically because by partner gets motion sickness. However the other guests in the shared vehicle were booked to have the dune bashing. This meant therefore that we had to wait until those guests were finished, and this meant waiting around for an an absolute age. We were warned beforehand the day before that we may need to wait '40 minutes' while the other guests do dune bashing, but in fact it would have been more like 90 minutes of waiting had we not opted to do the quad biking (which we only did after the tour guide almost pressured us into it, and it was extremely expensive and overpriced for what it was). Even despite doing the quad biking, we were waiting doing nothing for over an hour. Overall while some aspects of the evening were enjoyable, we cannot recommend it. This tour could have started at 6pm-9pm and we would have done all the same activities and saved ourselves from a couple of hours of boredom. The tour company need to change how it offers this tour and the timings involved for it to be worthwhile and enjoyable to guests who do not do the dune bashing.
